15 bean soup

We're a small family with a small budget, but we like to eat good food. By good food we don't mean fine, gourmet, expensive food. We mean the stuff that tastes good even though it doesn't cost a fortune. Basically, anything that requires some preparation beyond peeling off plastic wrap or opening a can fits our description of good food. The hardest thing for us to do when it comes to preparing food is decide what to eat. And doing the dishes afterward. So, this is a true log of our dinner meals every day. Don't come here looking for recipes, although we might post them from time to time.

Tonight's meal is 15-bean soup. We can just buy the soup mix at Winco, but that just means a bag of 15 types of beans. It's sitting in the crock pot right now, and will be done in a couple of hours. It's a lot of beans, some ham, onion, and spices. It's quite inexpensive, makes enough to feed an army, and tastes pretty good.
